Photo taken at the Can cau market, about 30km from Bac Ha town, Lao cai province. It takes place every Sat morning. Local people here who are almost ethnicities go to market from surrounding villages, some Chinese traders also cross the border (9km away) to attend. The girl in this photo is of Flower H'mong minority. She's about 16 or 17 years of age, I guess. It's quite normal among those people to get married and have children early.

Unfortunately there are still a lot of poor people who don't have money or a place to live. This little boy tried, with his smile, to get some money from the tourists so that his family was able to buy something to eat.
